Jono Manson's new album "Summertime" was recorded in the spring of 2005 in the studio of Manson's old friend and collaborator, Craig Dreyer, who also co-produced the project.

Dreyer's Mighty Toad Studio is located just outside of New York City, where the two musicians previously played together in the popular early-1990'sclub band "The Mighty Sweetones".

The basic tracks (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards) for the 12 songs were all recorded in one day. And after a week, or so, of overdubbing in New York, Denver, and Sarzana, Italy the record was ready to be mixed and mastered.

The musicians featured on "Summertime" include some of the most active players on the New York scene today, along with many long-time Manson collaborators:

Mike Merritt (Max Weinberg Seven) on Bass

James Wormworth (John Sebastian, Vivino Brothers, Johnnie Johnson, Al Kooper, Hubert Sumlin) on drums

Ben Stivers (Matchbox 20, Carlos Santana, Hiram Bullock, Albert Lee, Jose Feliciano) on hammond organ, fender rhodes, and wurlitzer electric piano

Craig Dreyer (Sweetones, Dreyer Bros., Keith Richards) on tenor saxophone

Tim Ouimette (Ray Charles) on trumpet.

....and appearances by Joe Flood, Ron Sunshine, Kevin Trainor, and Jerry Dugger

The album was co-mixed and then mastered by Rob Fraboni (Bob Dylan, The Band, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, Wayne Shorter, Milton Nascemiento, Bonnie Raitt, etc. etc....).

"Summertime" has been released so far only in Italy on Club de Musique records, and is available as an import through their website. We're hoping for a US release of this title soon. In any case, the import version will also be available as of mid-september 2005 at the "merchandising" link at this site!
